An au-pair placement is a placement whereby a young person comes to the U.K. in order to learn the English Language; lives for a time as a member of an English speaking family, with opportunities for study; helps in the home and with children, for up to 5 hours a day, with 2 free days a week, for reasonable pocket money, normally from about £50 a week.

To qualify as an aupair, a person must be;
entering U.K.to take up an arranged placement;
aged 17-27 when given leave to enter U.K.
unmarried;
without dependants;
a national of one of the following countries; Andorra; Bosnia-Herzegovina: Bulgaria; Croatia; Cyprus: Czech Republic; Estonia; The Faroes; Greenland; Hungary; Latvia; Macedonia; Malta; Monaco; Poland; Romania: San Marino; Slovakia; Slovenia; Turkey; in addition to all E.U.countries.

To be an au-pair means to help with housework, children, cooking, shopping etc. In exchange you will be treated as member of the family, and given your own room, all meals, pocket money (at least £50 weekly).You are expected to help 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, with 2 days per week completely free. You may be asked to babysit up to 3 evenings a week.

I can almost always place au-pairs, many very quickly, and always have families waiting. I have families all over U.K., particularly in/near London, Surrey, and near the South Coast, but also for example in Scotland and Ireland. You will be placed most easily and quickly if you are flexible as to area.
With your application, please enclose identity and family photos, 2 references, which tell of your character, experience with and suitability to work with children, translated into English if necessary, (please use my reference form for at least one of the references), a detailed letter all about yourself, your character, reasons for wanting to come and work here, what you like doing in your spare time, etc., also the medical certificate.

Every year I place an increasing number of au-pairs for the summer only. If you wish to come as a Summer Au-pair, from June or July for 2, 3, or 4 months, please apply in good time, for the best chance of a placement.

Apply now by completing the form on line, and also ask for my full paperwork, which can be posted/faxed to you. Meanwhile collect all necessary documents as above, to be returned to me by fax/post. Once I have your on-line application, I can offer you to suitable families, meanwhile waiting for other documents from you.
